Albany, GA – Student Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Dennis Dr

Albany, GA (November 1, 2021) – On Monday morning, November 1, a student was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Albany.

According to Albany officials, the accident happened on Dennis Drive at the campus entrance for Albany State University. A student was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a city bus that was traveling in the area. The driver of the bus immediately stopped and remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified only as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
