Atlanta, GA – APD Responds to I-285 Auto Accident at Camp Creek Pkwy

Atlanta, GA (December 26, 2021) – Around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday morning, December 26, a car crash with injuries occurred on a major highway in Atlanta.

Officers with the Atlanta Police Department say the accident happened on the Outer Loop of Interstate 285 at the exit to Camp Creek Parkway. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another in an apparent rear-end wreck.

Fire crews and medics were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.

Multiple lanes were blocked on the southbound side of the highway for at least an hour, leading to delays in the area.

Police say their investigation remains active. They are still working to piece together the events leading up to the collision.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
