Atlanta, GA (December 31, 2021) – On Friday, December 31, a car accident took place on a major highway in Atlanta that led to at least one injured victim and serious traffic backups.
The accident, according to police, happened around 6:30 p.m. when two or more vehicles collided on the northbound Buford Spring Connector before Interstate 85 for reasons that are not yet known. Numerous vehicles sustained damage in the accident, though it’s unclear how the accident was caused.
Paramedics, fire crews, and multiple other responders arrived to assist at the scene of the accident. Medical personnel discovered one or more victims suffered injuries as a result of the accident. EMS treated and transported the injured parties.
Officers with the Atlanta Police Department were able to clear the scene only an hour after the wreck. However, police urged those traveling through the area to use alternate routes.
