Atlanta, GA (December 9, 2021) – At 4:41 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, December 9, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 37, Lavista Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing them to slam into another vehicle. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
