Atlanta, GA (January 10, 2022) – On Monday evening, January 10, a truck accident with injuries occurred on a major roadway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 52, I-675. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it collided with one or more passenger vehicles due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were rushed to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a red alert was issued in the area and all lanes were blocked for some time. Police urged those in the area to use I-20 as an alternate route.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
