Bulloch Co, GA (September 11, 2021) – Around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 9, a collision involving multiple vehicles occurred in Bulloch County and resulted in injuries, per reports from officers in the area.
The Georgia Department of Transportation confirmed that the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of I-16 when at least two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. The accident led to vehicle damage and blocked several lanes near State Route 73.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the collision where they assisted those with injuries. Any injured victims were transported to an area medical center to be treated for their injuries.
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office closed all lanes in the area for several hours, leading to lengthy backups and delays.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time, and officers have not released further information about the injured victims or the events leading up to the crash.
