College Park, GA (November 5, 2021) – Around 4:30 a.m. on the morning of Friday, November 5, a fatal rollover accident occurred in College Park.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on I-85 around the area of Old National Highway. A mother was traveling on the roadway when her vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by another vehicle. This caused her vehicle to flip multiple times on the highway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the flipped vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s daughter, identified only as a child, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The driver who struck her vehicle was allegedly impaired at the time of the crash. It is not known if they were injured or charged for their role in the accident as of yet.
Due to the severity of the collision, all southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area until 10:30 a.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
