Commerce, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on I-85 Near Maysville Rd

Commerce, GA (December 21, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, December 21, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Commerce.

According to Jackson County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 147, Maysville Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one vehicle lost control, slamming into the others and causing a chain-reaction crash. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.

Due to the severity of the crash, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. Police urged those in the area to use Woodsbridge Road as an alternate route.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
