Dacula, GA – Update: Car Crash at GA-81 & Jack Pittman Rd Leads to Injuries

Dacula, GA (December 30, 2021) – A car accident in Dacula on Wednesday, December 29, led to injuries in several victims at an intersection. The parties have since been identified.

Walton County officials confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of GA-81 and Jack Pittman Road around 9:55 a.m. Police found that an 18-year-old man was traveling south on GA-81 in his Dodge Charger while a 45-year-old man from Grayson was traveling north in his Lexus. The 18-year-old lost control of his vehicle on a slick and rainy road. This caused his vehicle to strike the Lexus before it overturned. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. The 18-year-old driver of the Dodge, as well as a 46-year-old passenger in the Lexus, sustained injuries in the accident. They were taken to a local hospital but are expected to be okay.

The 18-year-old driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions due to the rain. The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
