Dacula, GA (December 9, 2021) – At 4:33 p.m. on the afternoon of Thursday, December 9, a fatal house fire occurred in Dacula.
According to Walton County officials, the fire broke out in a home at 5516 Bold Springs Road. Officials responded to the scene where they discovered that a home was fully engulfed in flames and smoke. Fire crews received word that there could be one or more victims inside the home They searched the house and continued to put out the fire over the next few minutes.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has since been identified as a 74-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not believed that anyone else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the incident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
