Dalton, GA – Fatal Collision at S Dug Gap Rd & Carpet Capital Dr

Dalton, GA (November 29, 2021) – At 11:50 a.m. on Sunday morning, November 28, a fatal collision occurred at an intersection in Dalton.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of South Dug Gap Road and Carpet Capital Drive. A dark blue Ranger driven by a 48-year-old man was traveling north at the same time as a 29-year-old woman in a red Pontiac. For reasons that are still being investigated, the vehicles forcefully collided with each other. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The woman was ejected from her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries while the male driver was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for a period of time. This led to delays in the area for some time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
