Decatur, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-285 Near Flat Shoals Rd

Decatur, GA (January 19, 2022) – On Wednesday morning, January 19, a tractor-trailer collision occurred on a highway in Decatur that led to injuries.

According to Atlanta officials, the accident happened around 12:29 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Flat Shoals Road. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it forcefully collided with one or more passenger vehicles in the area. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages as a result.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. This led to delays until police were able to successfully clear the scene.
