Forest Park, GA – Injury Accident in EB Lanes of I-285 Near Old Dixie Hwy

Forest Park, GA (January 6, 2022) – On Thursday, January 6, an injury accident occurred on a major highway in Forest Park.

Forest Park officials confirmed that the accident happened at 6:47 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Old Dixie Highway. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when it is believed that one or more vehicles lost control, colliding with each other. Some of the vehicles sustained heavy damages and left debris scattered all over the roadway in the area. The involved vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.

The right lane of traffic was blocked for some time, which led to extensive delays through a time of heavy traffic in the morning.
