Forsyth, GA – Three Killed in Fatal Train Accident Near Goodwyne Rd

Forsyth, GA (November 11, 2021) – On Wednesday night, November 10, a fatal train accident occurred near a roadway in Forsyth.

According to officials, the accident happened on the tracks near the area of both Goodwyne Road and Collier Road. A vehicle was traveling in the area when it came to a stop in the tracks in the area, becoming stuck. One of the victims got out of the vehicle and attempted to help those inside to safety. However, a train came along and struck the vehicle before they were able to get out.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The three victims were all pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as a 93-year-old woman, a 66-year-old woman, and a 47-year-old man. Nobody on the train that struck the vehicle was injured.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time as police worked to clear the scene. Police are not yet sure what caused the vehicle to become stuck on the tracks.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
