Lawrenceville, GA (November 19, 2021) – At 10:00 p.m. on the evening of Friday, November 19, a truck crash with injuries occurred on a busy roadway in Lawrenceville.
According to Lawrenceville Police, the accident happened on I-85 near Sugarloaf Parkway. Two or more vehicles, including a big rig, were traveling in the area when they apparently collided in a rear-end crash. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks, and the tractor-trailer overturned as a result of the collision.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, nearly all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to avoid the intersection for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Big Rig Accidents in Georgia
Every hour of the day, serious car accidents occur due to the negligence of others in the state of Georgia. In fact, in one hour, it is estimated that approximately 70 auto accidents happen in Georgia, some minor and some severe.
These accidents can typically be prevented but continue to happen due to the outright reckless acts of others. Auto accidents happen in many different areas but intersections are some of the most common. Common causes for car accidents at intersections include the following:
- Distracted driving
- Drunk driving
- Drowsy driving
Moreover, these accidents result in even more severe consequences when a tractor-trailer is involved. You can be left to deal with commercial truck companies, large insurance conglomerates, and more, all on top of recovering from your devastating wreck.
As an injured victim, it is up to you to show that another party is at fault for your accident. If you can show this, you can be successful as you move forward with a claim. You should speak with a legal advocate that you can trust after an accident.
Nobody is ever fully prepared to face the aftermath of a car accident entirely on their own. If you have been hurt in a car accident, you should speak with a Lawrenceville truck accident lawyer who has your best interests in mind. For instance, what deadlines will you be required to meet when it comes to moving forward with a claim? What evidence do you need to show that another party is at fault for your accident? What should you say when you speak with the insurance adjuster in your claim for the first time? These are questions that you can answer with the help of a Lawrenceville personal injury lawyer on your side.
