Macon, GA (December 2, 2021) – On Thursday, December 2, a bicycle crash with injuries occurred on a roadway in Macon.
According to Bibb County deputies, the accident happened at 694 Lower Poplar Street around the area of the Cox Café. A bicyclist was traveling in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. It is believed that the driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene to cooperate with police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment. They are expected to recover from their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
