Macon, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Hawkinsville Rd

Macon, GA (November 11, 2021) – At 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, November 9, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Macon.

According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened on Hawkinsville Road around the area of the Monarca Ballroom. Police were initially called to the scene when they found out a stalled vehicle was in the roadway. However, when they arrived there, they found a person lying on the road as well. A man was walking across the road next to the stalled vehicle when he was suddenly struck by another vehicle.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The victim, identified as a 43-year-old man from the Gwinnett County area, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.

The driver who struck the pedestrian was not hurt and remained at the scene. It is not known if they were cited for their role in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
