Newnan, GA (January 1, 2022) – One man has lost his life following an auto accident in the Newnan area on Wednesday evening, December 29.
Reports from authorities show that a Ford Mustang was traveling north on Highway 29. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the center line in the area of 4395 North Highway 29 and crashed head-on into a GMC Sonoma.
The driver of the GMC, an adult male, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 47-year-old female, was transported to Atlanta Medical Center for care. She was later arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle and failure to maintain lane.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.
