Norcross, GA (August 31, 2021) – At 9:11 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 31, a tractor-trailer accident occurred on a highway in Norcross.
According to police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 99, Jimmy Carter Boulevard. A tractor-trailer and one or more sedans were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the crash sustained severe damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in two or more lanes until police were able to fully clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
