Richmond Hill, GA – One Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on I-95

Richmond Hill, GA (September 8, 2021) – On Wednesday morning, September 8, a fatal truck accident occurred on a highway in Richmond Hill.

According to Bryan County officials, the accident happened on I-95 around the area of mile marker 77. The crash occurred in northbound lanes of traffic when a utility van struck the back of a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known. The utility van sustained severe front-end damages as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person in the utility van, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the collision.

The roadway was blocked between exit 76 and exit 82 until police were able to clear the scene.

Georgia State Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
