Stonecrest, GA (November 26, 2021) – At 4:09 p.m. on the afternoon of November 26, a chain-reaction collision occurred in Stonecrest.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 74, Evans Mill Road. Four or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one slammed into the back of another, sending it forward into a second vehicle. In the end, four or more vehicles were left with extensive damages due to the chain-reaction accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured due to the collision. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
