Sylvania, GA (November 26, 2021) – At 4:22 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, November 23, a fatal fire occurred in Sylvania that took one life.
According to Screven County officials, the incident happened in a structure at 1430 Old Poor Robin Road. Fire crews were called to the scene where they found a building engulfed in flames and smoke. When fire crews went inside the building, they found that a person was still inside the building when it caught on fire.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help. The individual inside, who has not yet been identified, was pulled out by fire crews. They were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not yet given any information on what caused the fire to start. The area was blocked off for some time until fire crews brought the fire under control.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
